物品类
Perfume (NEW)
1. Do you like wearing perfume?
When I need to have a date or attend formal occasions, like wedding ceremony, I will use perfume. It is a sign of respect and sincerity. However, in my daily life, I would not use that because I tend to faint from perfume, especially in confined spaces.
2. Will you buy perfume as a gift?
Yes, perfume with big names, like DIOR and CHANEL is a precious and exquisite gift. Sending it to my friends can show my respect and sincerity. Fragrance is such a wonderful element that can increase a person’s charm.
3. Do people in your country wear perfume?
Most young people use perfume. When attending some important events, such as weddings, ceremonies or formal dinners, people would use some perfume on their clothes. In comparison to those perfumes with very strong flavors, some young people prefer those with lighter flavors, such as flowers or woods, more acceptable for others.
Suits (NEW)
1. On what occasion do people wear suits?
Well, if you are going to a formal event, then yes, I think it is very important that you show up in formal attire. You'll need them for business interviews or dates or work. You give a better impression everywhere you go.
2. Have you worn or seen someone worn a long dress?
A one-piece dress I wore on my cousin’s wedding ceremony three years ago is the one that I cherish most and changes me most. It was the very first one-piece dress I bought and I clearly remember that it was a Dolce & Gabbana. I specially bought it in Shanghai two weeks before my cousin’s wedding. To me, it was costly at that time, of course. I bought it because I was firstly invited to be an honored bridesmaid.
Book (NEW)
1. How often do you read?
The time that I give to reading depends only on my attitude towards that particular book. If I like it so much and am very interested in it, I’d read it continuously for more than two hours without a break. If the book is interesting, but it needs some mental effort, I’d read it only when I want to, from ten minutes to an hour everyday.
2. Do Chinese people like to read?
No. According to a survey result published by the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication in April, Chinese people read 4.39 books per capita in the past year, a figure that trails far behind major developed countries; for example, the average American read 7, the average French and Japanese person 8.4, and the average South Korean 11. And, on average, Chinese people allocated just over 15 minutes a day to reading, compared to almost 100 to watching television and over 45 for using the Internet.
3. Do you read electronic books?
I love ebooks. Mostly because I can keep all my books on one device and not have to tote everything around. However, there is a clear pricing problem surrounding ebooks. Publishers cannot expect people to pay the same price for a book and an ebook. Currently, many top-selling books are priced the same. Economically speaking, the cost of every ebook (except the very first copy) is zero. People will (and should) be willing to pay a couple dollars per book but expecting that people with pay full price is ludicrous and will only spur piracy. If ebook companies want to be successful, they will recognize that pricing will play a large part in their success and act accordingly.
4. Do you read books about your major? / Do you read professional books?
Yes, as an education major. Taking some time away from learning how to teach others is really beneficial. Whether you're reading something that you think you may one day want to teach, or maybe reading about the life of someone who already teaches, reading is obviously going to be very instrumental for you.
Rubbish (NEW)
1. Why do people litter?
Well, generally there are three reasons. Some people are lack of the sense of environmental protection and some cities are not well-developed in environmental equipment. Also, related laws and regulations are not well-legislated enough.
2. What do you think of people who throw rubbish in the street?
I think this is due to their weak sense of environmental protection. Maybe they can’t find a trash can in the street, but this is not an excuse for them to litter.
3. Would you help to maintain a clean environment in your neighborhood?
Definitely. A clean environment is helpful to people’s physical and mental health, even the relationship between neighbors. Everyone should be responsible for environmental protection.
4. Have you ever recycled anything, such as plastic bags or paper?
Sure, I’d like to recycle. Actually, I haven’t used plastic bags for a long time. I always take a cloth bag made by my mom for shopping when I go to supermarket. Plastic bags can’t degrade.
生活休闲类
Going Out (NEW)
1. Do you prefer going out or staying at home? Why?
Well, I used to go out often to play with my friends when I was in high school. It changed a lot since I came to university. Now what I consider most is to spend more time with my family, as I am far away from my home studying in Beijing, I can only stay with them during winter vocation and summer vocation. So when I come home, I prefer to stay at home chatting with my parents or watching TV with them together.
In other words, what matters is not about whether going out or staying at home, but being with my family, so both is OK to me. We can stay at home watching a whole day of old movies and ordering take-away or we can make a wild field trip to the rarely beaten part of the city.
2. What will do if you go out?
Generally, I would like to do some team activities with my friends, like playing football and playing poker. However, I would occasionally go to a cafe shop, order my favorite Latte and read a book for the whole afternoon. It's always very joyful to spend an afternoon alone.
3. When you go out for an evening, what do you like to do?
You know I don’t enjoy going out alone especially in the evening. I may call my close friends to check out what they are doing and whether they are busy or not. If they are free, I either choose to visit a park and spend time there with my friends or arrange an outdoor game like cricket or badminton. Sometimes I go out for shopping in the evening if this is necessary or enjoy a movie in a movie theatre.
4. Do you prefer going out on your own or with friends?
You bet! Being alone is boring while being someone's company is joyful. So my motto is the more the better. It really feels wonderful even when we just slob around the streets and do some idle joking and poking at each other.
Family activities (NEW)
1. What do you usually do when you are with your family members?
For me, I am really fond of chatting with my families, the stuffs like working issues or life topics. Truth to be told, we do not often do the normal family things, something like going shopping or watching TV together. We are more like sitting around the table and chew the fat in our spare time.
2. What do your family members usually do on weekends?
On weekend, em let me think about it. Oh, actually I only have one day for resting on weekend, cuz Saturday is my working day. So for Sunday, we are really into hanging out together to have a dinner in some favorite restaurants to please our palates. Or it is more often to watch a long-waited movie together. That’s all, no big things, just find the same hobbies for fun.
3. How do you feel when you stay with your family?
Oh, I love this question, because for me, staying with my family is the most cozy thing in my life. The reason is very simple, I do not need to wear a suit or formal clothes like going to work when I am staying with my family, right? And I can talk or even complain everything to my families, whatever from my work or friends. So staying with my family is more like doing a massage or refreshment for my mind.
4. Do you think it is necessary to do family activities?
Yes, it is a really needful thing for a family. The most obvious reason is that doing family activities can promote families relationship. Besides that, it is a great opportunity to spend more time with families. No matter how good you are at work, you have the responsibility to go back to your family after work and do some beneficial activities with them.
5. Do you often visit relatives?
Actually it is not often, because my hometown is not Beijing, and I have my own family here, I may back to my hometown twice a year. So visiting my relative is a kind of extravagant thing for me because of the long distance. But, fortunately, I usually spend more time to chat with them on WeChat or talk with them on the phone as much as possible.
6. What do you do when you visit relatives?
As I said before, I seldom visit my relatives. So if I have time, I prefer to buy some goods for them at first, like necessities or gifts. Then I will take them out to go shopping or have a dinner together to chat things about each other’s work and life. No more special things, and spending more time with them whatever we do.
7. When was your last time to visit relatives?
I remember that it was before the last summer vacation. You know, as a teacher, summer holiday should be the busiest time during the year, so I seldom have the spare time to go somewhere during that vacation. That means, I usually go somewhere like visiting relatives or traveling before the summer vacations. And it was a very clear memory that I bought a gift for my grandma when I went back to visit her last year. She was really over the moon when she received that gift, and to be honest, that was the first present I have ever given to her.
Shaving (NEW)
1. Do you use shaving cream?
Yes, I do. Since I shave my face on a daily basis so the shaving cream can make it so much easier by softening moustache and beard.
2. What flavour do you prefer?
Well, I never pay attention to its flavour. But if I had to choose, I guess mint or lemon flavour would be great because it can give my face a refreshing feel.
3. Do you prefer having foam or gel?
I think both types can be quite similar. At least I don`t see big differences. So I would choose between these two products based on which one is more affordable and economical.
4. Would you give shaving cream as a gift to others?
No I would not. It must be the most weird present I`ve ever heard. But I guess a shaver could be a perfect gift for men.
Street markets (NEW)
1. Are there many street markets in China?
Definitely. As a matter of fact, numerous street markets can be found across the country where the public get easy access to a whole bunch of commodities. They include vegetables, meat, snacks and many other kinds of groceries.
2. Are street markets better than shopping malls? Why or why not?
Not necessarily. That’s because they exceed the counterpart in different aspects. For instance, the environment in shopping mall is better than that in the street market where we may see dirty grounds or rubbish. Nevertheless, the price in street market is much lower and the vegetables are fresher.
3. Would you feel interesting if you see a street market in a foreign country?
That’s for sure. Foreign street markets are always attractive to me and I get always get something interesting there. For instance, couple of years ago, I came across a street market in America where there were.
4. Do you prefer to go to a street market or a shopping mall?
Well, it depends on what things I am going to purchase. If daily necessities are needed such as vegetables, fruits or other similar commodities, street market will be my priority due to the fresh goods and low price. However, if clothes, shoes, home appliances alike are the goal, I will go to shopping malls where shopping experience is incomparable.
